#13 Villanova (+4.5) @ West Virginia

Well last night’s Mavs game didn’t pan out, as Paul Pierce took over the 4th quarter, much to my dismay.  Tonight let’s go ahead and take Villanova on the road, a team that just scorched Marquette and has phenomenal uniforms.  I’m not going to pretend to know anything about either team, but my money’s on the cats.  Also, how on earth could a .500 team be laying 4.5 to a top 15 team like Nova…seems fishy.

Villanova +4.5

Season Record 0-1-0

  1. 10-1 in 2009 NFL playoffs, 8-3 in 2008 NFL playoffs…I need my own “Free Picks” tab on the top of this blog….think about it SportsBoyTony.

  2. If I keep losing, you very well might.

  3. Tonight I’m taking the Sophomores -5.5 over the Rookies in the ever popular T-Mobile Rookie Challenge & Youth Jam.

I say ever popular because it’s so “popular” that the NBA can’t find enough suckers to pay money to watch this game so they give the tickets away to local school children just to fill the lower bowl. Last year I was one of those suckers, but seeing how tickets to the Saturday night festivities were well into the hundreds, I guess 30 bucks to sit in the rafters to see the rooks take a 27 point beat down from the sophs while kids who probably didn’t know any of the players in the game but cheered wildly when home town on looker CP3 was shown on the big screen, and sat about 60 rows closer to the action than me, wasn’t so bad. Wait…yes it was. At least I made back part of my ticket price by giving my man Meporioles 10 points. Tonight I’m only giving the book 5.5.

  4. Syracuse -4.5 over Georgetown.

Revenge game here, plus this may be the biggest on campus crowd in the nation this year. SU is planning an “Orange Out” and are expecting to approach or surpass the 30k mark. A match up against a team from the bottom half of the conference is just what the Dr. ordered. SU should make the Big Dance this year and to do it they have to beat teams like the Hoyas who are on the outside looking in right now.

  5. please note, times listed for my posts are inaccurate. I made the SU pick post at 2:50 am central time and the Sophmore pick well before I went into work this evening at 5:00pm. Get that junk fixed WEBMASTER, so it don’t look like I’m posting these picks post game.

  6. North Carolina -8.5 at Miami.

My first two picks have been great examples of how tough it is to pick against the spread. A half point here and a half point there is all it takes. BSmith can’t say that because he got killed on both his previous picks but………maybe that’s why we haven’t seen a third pick from him. Half points won’t be needed in this one because the Tar Heels are sure to cover easily today. The previous matchup saw the Heels win by 17. UNC got the best of the Canes at home but the Heels have also proved they can win big on the road, their 14 point win over #5 Duke is proof of that. I’m confident the Heels win by at least 10.
